Tightening fit of AR collapsible stock

Someone recently posted a heat or boiling method of tightening
the fit. I have a very loose one.
Could someone repost the method if it works?

My gunsmith friend uses a heat gun with the collapsible stock still mounted on the tube; and his method is heat uniformly and test how loose and repeat. I have never tried it so it would be best to google it and also see if someone has video on youtube too.

A couple strips of med tape on the buffer tube works good.

I pitched mine and got a stock with a friction lock. I bought a Magpull ACS-L stock a year ago, and am very happy with it. That wiggling damn stock just drove me nuts.

Are you sure you don't have a commercial stock on a mil-spec tube [?]
The commercial is .020 bigger [;)]

    DCS Shooter.
I'm not sure. This gun was assembled from parts by different brands.
    Everything else is good.
What are the dimensions for the looser and tighter fit stocks?
I do have some slippery, braided low friction tape in mind if the heat shrink method wont look good.
    I'll check U-tube.
