I'm looking to buy an H&K SP89. From what I'm seeing on the auctions for them they are going for about $4000 and up. Is this about average? I haven't found any at local gun shows, or for that matter anywhere to get an idea on the going prices. Just wanted an idea before I drop $4000 on one. I know there are clones out there, but I really want an H&K. Any information would be appreciated.

$4K is an average to good price for a 95% SP89.
There is a very limited supply of them and it gets smaller each year.
They get converted to AOWs and SBRs and sear hosts.
I have kept mine stock and use the Bobcats, Vectors and Cohaires as sear hosts.
Get a newer Cohaire if you just want a shooter.
