stock removal from single stack ak?

hello, has anyone got experience with removing the ugly butt skeleton style wooden stock from the single stack romak ak-47. ive taken all screws out and put it in a vise and with a rubber mallet, tried to beat this thing off with not even a bugg? any tipps. just want to put a regular stock and pistol grip on her! almost like its epoxied on! just as tight with no screws. any suggestions would be great, thanks

The one I had years back had two screws in it. It also had a slot that slid up into the receiver, mine was tight too but slid off with a couple of pops.
