I have a Model 165 .22 auto rifle- looks like a civilian M65 military. It's D&T'd for a Redfield #70 peepsight but only has plain buckhorn rear sight dovetailed on barrel. Not grooved for scope but has 4 holes lenghtwise on left side of rear reciever. It's in good to very good cond. w/ a 5rd mag.

the standard rear sights on the m165 were the rear redfield peep sight. the drilling and tapping for the scope mount is not factory. this model needs to be completely in original condition (no extra holes in reciever) complete with original rear peep sight to be worth the big money. in condition described probably around $100 to $125 depending on condition. the 5 round magazine is a plus as most are seen with the 10 round.

the difference between the m165 and the m65 was the 165 has a sporter style stock and a ramped front sight.

the model 165 regular production was 1946-1947 and very limited production between 1959 and 1961

Bill, you hit it right on the head. This rifle must have been modified from original. To bad, but it's still an excellent shooter. Thanks for your help, thad.
