Have been looking for a H&R model 686 with a 10" barrel, have seen some reference catalogs that show this barrel length was available, Can anyone out there confirm this?
Thanks

    Thanks for the info. I now have model 686 pieces with 45/8", 5.5", 7.5", and 12" barrel all with AU serial # [1980] If I could ever find a 10" barreled piece with same DOM I would be a very happy man!
    Thanks again for the info!!

    jim,
    the model 686 was manufactured between 1980 and 1896. 1980 and 1981 catalogs only list barrel lengths of 4 1/2, 5 1/2, 7 1/2 & 12 inches.
    10 inch barrel was added in 1982. you will have to settle for having a 10 inch with serial number letter code of one of the following;
    1982=AY
    1983=AZ
    1984=BA
    1985=BB
    1986=BC
