Will the stock from a Remington 700 short action fit on a Remington 722 short action or would there have to be an alteration? Any info is always appreciated.

I asked pretty much the same question a year or so ago. The consensus was, yes they will interchange, but might require stock modification in the area of the bolt handle due to the different shape bolt handles between the 700, and 722.

It may also require some work in the trigger area including the safety and bolt stop, the barrel, and the magazine. It depends on which 700 stock you have and which 722 barreled action you have. It's doable if you have the basic tools and skills.
