I never heard of it either? So I GOOGLED. Some person years ago. With way to much time and money on their hands. Decided they wanted a centerfire version, of the 22 Winchester Rimfire Magnum.

My take on it, is it's a exercise in futility. Specially nowadays with all the different variations and loadings available for the WMR. Also considering the price of a custom Cooper rifle.

I'll keep my Jet and 222. The Hornet I had wasn't enough.

    toad67,

    It is 22 caliber.

Remember, caliber is a specification for diameter only. I think you mean to ask about the cartridge and the bullet diameter.

    Here is a brief synopsis:

"SUMMARY OF THE .22 Squirrel CARTRIDGE:

The .22 Squirrel (AKA: .22 Hornet Kindler Improved) is a Center Fire cartridge with a Bullet Diameter of 0.224 in" (5.69mm) that is primarily used in Rifles. The .22 Squirrel originated in The United States in (UNKNOWN DATE). The .22 Squirrel also has a case length of 1.403 in" (35.64mm) and an overall length of 1.722 in" (43.74mm)."

For more information you could contact Todd Kindler the originator.

    Best.
