ruger gold label 12 gauge shotgun

I purchased one of these and am dismayed that the breech lever is "canted" off to the right, unlike my red label, and any other breech break firearm i have owned or used. factory service says don't send it in, it was made like that. viewing firearms as almost pieces of art that can be used i find that answer bewildering. does anyone have any thoughts on this. did ruger have a manufacturing glitch they are just trying to make go away? help

His break lever is likewise off center.
Bro Joe loves his, especially humping through the mountains in search of grouse.
I wouldn't worry about it. Appearantly that's the way they are.
Enjoy it, go shoot some pheasants.

I want to get one with a pistol grip stock rather than the english straight stock but have not seen any. Iam also hoping the $2,000.00 price will come down a bit when more of them hit the market.
My Red Label 20ga sporting Clay model breech lever is canted off to one side also. My field grade 12 ga red label is not. I called the Ruger factory and was told that is how the lever is on a Sporting Clay models. Go figure. I like them both and I have never had a minute of trouble with either one.
Interesting question with so many variables on the Ruger lever position. Browning O/U's all come new with the lever canted to the right side, as the gun "wears in" it moves to the left over time and alot of use.

Me too. [:D]
cant means to me that the levers pivot rod was set into the lever shaft at an angle, meaning when they drilled the hole, the receiver wasnt level.
is this what you mean?
or are you refering to the lever when in lockup does not return to centerline of the top of the receiver spine?
