Is there a differance between the 17 rem and 17 rem fireball

    Yes there is a very distinct difference between the two. The 17 Remington is based on the full length 223 remington case, while the 17 Remington Freball is based on the much shorter 221 fireball case. Performance wise no there is not much difference. They both are capable of exceeding 4000 feet per second in velocity, but the Fireball does it more efficiently with less powder. The Fireball was introduced last year, and has developed a substantial following. Much more so than its older brother the 221 Fireball.
