Local guy has a 1903 Springfield mfg the serial # indicates mfg in 1926. Has been rebarreled with Sledgly 1941 barrel. Over all condition is nice. What would be a fair value?

If it's in military configuration most collectors want them "correct". With the replacement barrel (is it marked "USMC"?), it's more of a shooter grade. I'd say $600+/-.

However, Sedgley did make some fake 1903 rifles out of assorted and fabricated parts and, sometimes, low-numbered receivers. A rifle like that might be an interesting item but not a real "Springfield" and not a shooter.

Sedgley did have a war time contract for replacement barrels for the Marine Corps' 1903's, but it doesn't appear that any were as early as 1941: More like 1944.
