CZ 52 pistol magazine fit

I'm having problems with my magazine fitting in tight. I thought it was a slide issue because the slide would open after one, two rounds fired but sometimes not. I replaced the hold open catch because I thought the end wasn't catching the mag but was wrong. I stuck a little cardboard between the magazine catch and magazine base and then the pistol worked flawlessly. Tempted just to glue cardboard to the bottom of the magazine but I want it fixed right. I was thinking to replace the magazine catch. Would a new hammer spring also make the mag catch tighter? Thanks for suggestions.

I think you should try other magazines first. Your pistol is assmbled with machined parts where as the magazine is stamped tin tacked together. I would remove the magazine base and flip it over if possible, reinstall it and see if that makes a difference. If not, remove the base again and give it a tweek to bend it about a 'cardboard' thickness.

Take the magazine apart and "bow" the bottom piece of tin. This worked for me.

Thanks Its and PJ. Tweeking mags today and hitting the range tomorrow. Thankfully free and 5 miles away. I have a M44 front sight that I have to iron out too. Busy day at the range and wouldn't have it any other way. I'll give you results tomorrow afternoon.

    Thanks alot

I've had to dress them considerably on a belt sander and refinish them to get good fit which doesn't require a screwdriver to remove them.

Hope your M44 front sight needs range adjust only. I found doing the windage on mine a real PIA.
