AR10 gas system question

Is there a difference between "mid-length" and "carbine" gas systems?
I have an AR10 lower (PSA PA10) with a carbine buffer.
Looking at 16" barrels all I can find are marked "mid-length".
I know there is a pistol length, a carbine length, and a rifle length.
Is the mid-length just another term for carbine, or do I need to look elsewhere?

Thanks

    Mgderf,

Sometimes there is confusion regarding gas system lengths between AR15 platforms and AR10 platforms. The simplest answer is that you will not find AR10- 16" barrels without being marked 'mid-length'. AR10 platforms use the 2 lengths only; rifle and mid-length. Anything shorter than 16" uses a customized (shortened and fitted) gas tube system.

    Best.
