My only experience, is with the .22 caliber versions of the M & P's.

The full sized one is made in Germany. It's magazine won't work, in the U.S. made Compact. Because the magazine latch locking notches, aren't compatible. With the Compact, I.E. same mag, but locking notches in body of mag are lower.

The full size will work in the compact, but the compacts are too short for the full sized.

Spacers are available - slip them over the full sized mag and it pretty well duplicates the feel of a fuller sized pistol grip. A fairly common practice with subs and compacts and their fuller sized versions. They cost about $8.00 and work well.

I was guessing/hoping they might fit both. I have a sub 2000 in 40 which uses the M&P full size mags. Was considering a companion M&P 40C. Now that I know the full size mags fit, I'll be good to go. Thanks
