Seeking comment Rem. 760

I just bought a Remmington 760 GameMaster an hour ago. A .243 in real good shape. The gunshop threw in a case and a decent sling. I got it for $250 w/ tax out the door. I think I did OK but..... I have Never shot one or even had one in my hands. I have several other rifles and this one will be for my 14 year old son.
Can you offer any comments on your experiences with this model.

I know about caliber selection and game, just not the gun itself.
