I've been looking for some time for straight slot oval head steel wood screws for my various gun projects. All I have found so far is bronze or stainless, phillips head, square drive, etc, screws. Does anyone have a source for plain old straight slot, steel oval head wood screws??? Thanks in advance for any info. Emery

Try www.brownells.com They have a great online catalog with such supplies, or you can call them at (800)741-0015 and ask for tech. help. Good luck.

AAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!! "...square drive..." Is properly called a Robertson screw, not a square drive. There's no such thing as a square drive. Go into any hardware store for straight slot oval head steel wood screws.

Should be easy to find in several sizes at Home Depot.

I'll check Home Depot soon; none of the other hardware stores around here have steel ones.... only brass or aluminun!!?? Yukk. Square drive? If it looks square, chances are it is square, but thanks for setting me straight on Robertson. I know that DGW has some but they get pretty costly when you figure in several dollars for shipping. Thought I should just be able to pick some up the next time I'm in town. Emery

Captkirk, if you've got a souuce for such screws, please cut me in on the secret!!
    Thanks,
    OleDuk
mazo, don't waste your time at Home Depot--most of the steel screws they have are plated and the local HD doesn't have any unplated ones, much less blue!
    Haven't seen'em in McMaster-Carr either.
Never heard of tacoma screw until tonight.
    Thanks,

OleDuk, I don't recall seeing anything at Home Depot and Ace doesn't seem to have any. Brownell has some but at $3.00 ea. (plus shipping) they are my last resort. The good Capt'n has offered to see if they are available at his source. I just thought maybe someone who does restocking or furniture making/restoration would have a source. Emery
