howdy fellas,

i'm turning an old Remington 1100 sporting shotgun into a home defense shotgun. my question is this:

what is the optimum length to cut the 30" barrel to, to acommodate the 10 shot extension? it adds five shots.

should i cut the barrel or maybe just buy a 22" barrel? thanks in advance.> Bob

A goose gun makes a poor choice for a house gun.

My recommendation would be an 18" Remington rifled slug barrel with a Choate mag extension. Handy, & versatile. Yeah, it may only hold 6 rounds or so, but, if that isn't going to be enough, you can put one of those cloth shell holders on the stock.
