color case harden bolt handle/knob + gold

Guys,

I am contemplating color case hardening the bolt handle and knob on my husqvarna 456. All in the white at this time though the bolt knob is being checkered with two panels and a pin stripe. Anybody see a problem with color case hardening the handle and knob? I've seen pictures on line of said process; looked great. Also I want to add a gold pin stripe around each panel should I do this before or after the case hardening?

You need to do all checkering and cutting of grooves for pin strip before Color case .

EDIT gold inlays come LAST after Bluing, Color Case, Nickel ETC

I realize that. What I am asking is do I add the gold before or after the case hardening. I may end up bluing instead. Wonder if gold is before or after.
