was wanting to see how happy the owners of these guns are ? I am thinking of making this my next purchase, with the A3 sights. So let me hear from you, or if there is a cheaper alternative than Bushy, may consider it. thanks for the input.

Does the Bushmaster m4 come with the piston system or is it an after market option?

    Alt man,

Hello, and welcome to the forums here on Gunbroker.

As far as I know they offer that in both versions now. Direct gas or gas piston. The gas piston is a little more pricey, but I do understand they are awesome, not to say the direct gas system is not. I have heard that the direct gas is a little more accurate than the gas piston. It has served well for many years.

Bushmaster's make and models are available on their website bushmaster.com

I like the gas piston system, just not bushmasters. Personally I think the direct gas system is more reliable for the long term. Less moving parts, less to wear out and break. The only advantages to a gas piston is that the gun won't have to be cleaned as hard for as many rounds fired, and there isn't as much heat coming back into the action meaning the gun wont get as hot.

When it boil to it, its just another fancy bell and whistle.... lolz
