I contacted Ralph today and he was most helpful:

"This is as fine an example of the M1905 bayonet as I have ever seen. A real prize."
"This one is exactly as it was originally made in 1906 and is remarkably well preserved."

He also referred me to the RIA Museum to do more research on the specifics of the scabbard.

    Your welcome! I don't know a fraction of what Ralph does on bayonets, but every time I walk a gunshow with him, I get an education. I knew he would want to see your bayo, I'll hear all about it when I see him.[:)]
