Linked .308 Nato Tracer?? Value ??

Recently cleaning out various cubbyholes, came across a belt of .308 ammunition linked together with steel links. Head stamp is "LC 90" and a small mark I can't make out, bullet tips are orange. I think they are tracer but don't remember when or why I acquired them. There are 65 rounds linked together
Any value ? A local gun shop offered me $5.00 for all of them but I passed although I'm not sure I want to shoot them out of a bull barrel Ruger. I figured I would be money ahead to just pull the rounds and use the brass at that price.
Thanks for the assist

Take them out of the links and shoot them and still have the brass. Just be very careful, they can start fires.
