The early run of them were hit or miss, but they seem to be ok. Problem was everyone thought they would be cheaper than they ended up being, and have not been popular because of the price. One can build a nice AR for the cost of a 180B. Also I personally do not like the polymer lower.

I have one and like it just fine. It is light weight and quite easy to operate. They stay cleaner than AR types because the gas system is not in the action.

The current production of the AR 180B is the 3rd variation of the AR180. The original AR180 was produced in the late 1960's and 70's. First made in Coast Mesa California and then by HOWA of Japan and the Stearling of England. Armalite brought the4 AR180 back to life during the gin ban and called it the AR 180B. It did not have a flash supressor or folding stock or a bayonet lug. The receiver was desiged to use the standared AR16/M16 magazines. The original AR180/AR18 used a propritary magazine. Today Armalite is making the AR180B with a flash supressor. Not much more of a change from the 1st AR180B. It is a good rifle and if sold for less would sell much better than the AR15 clones on the market today. MY 2 cents [8D]
