Hey y'all, from here in the sunny south [8D],
I have what appears to be a S&W model 15. It is the 4" model and looks identical to the model 15s except that my Smith does not have the model number on the yoke like a 15 should...and the gun also wears the diamond wood grips on the sq. butt grip. Can you help with the exact model designation?
Thanks ahead of time,
Jim

Your gun was made prior to 1957. Thats when Smith began using model numbers. As Rufe said, it was called the Combat Masterpiece prior to 57. The diamond grips are correct for that period.
Doug..... No, they did not put "Combat Masterpiece" on the barrels. "Smith & Wesson" on the left side and ".38 S&W Special Ctg" on the right.
