I have a colt pistol that belonged to ny greatGrandfather and im not sure what it is.
The patent dates are Apr. 20 1897 Sept. 9 1902.
The other side reads "calibre 38 rimless smokeless"
the serial number is 27603

Any help would be great And Im Looking for a magazine for it.
Thanks!

I think you have a model 1903 Pocket Automatic Pistol Detail close-up in focus pictures would go a long way in letting us give you correct information . Baring that we need you to take a pencil and checking first to make sure it has no shell inthe chamber slide the pencil down the barrel and make a mark where the end of the barrel is on the pencil & give us that length. The serial number if I am right on my guess of what you have should have a spur type hammer not a rounded hammer and it should have a 4 &1/2 inch barrel This pistol shared some serial numbers with both the 1902 Military model and model 1902 Sporting but both of these would have a 6 inch barrel. We need more information then your first post . You can go back and edit your original post with more information rather then another post as once you get 10 replies this post will get LOCKED and you will have to post the question on a new topic. Cheers PERRY SHOOTER Just click on the ICON with the pencil and this will allow you to edit and it does not increase the reply count[^][:p]
