Hi, A friend of mine found a 410 double barrel shotgun in an old barn they were tearing down and was wondering what the value of the gun is and about what age it is. I know a little about these guns but very little. It has the Twist Belgium barrels, with external hammers on each side with a flip switch in the center to break open the gun for loading. There was one article I read stating these guns were known as a Europeon garden gun and valued about $850.00 if it's in good working order. This gun is in good order as it was fired when they found it more than 30 years ago. He showed it to me and all the pieces were there as a complete gun. There are also some numbers on the barrel and some insignias but I don't know what they are. Under the butt plate it has a number of 16. Can you help with my questions? Thanks for you time in this matter. Frank

Hello Frank The funny markings letters and numbers are Proof marks and would help us tell you where it was made that along with close-up detail in focus would be the only way to let us see these marks as well as the condition of the shot gun . I would not get my hopes up on it being worth $800.00 just because all parts are there and it fired does NOT make this a gun in GOOD condition. We need pictures . go to the top 4or5 post on this forum listed as STICKY and they will tell you how to post pictures.
