Ok I'm stuck on this pump action 45 colt thing and no one recommends the Taurus Thunderbolt...what about the Berretta Gold Rush..anyone ever have one or know someone that does...how is it?

You might want to check on the SASS web site or even the cowboy forum on this site. But from what I have heard NONE of the modern REPRO'S work very well if you try to work the action fast . UNLESS you have someone that knows what they are doing almost completely rebuilds these rifles. I also think The same factory puts out the same rifle with more then one brand name. Of course the Beretta is made in a different country then the Taurus. I shoot a number of original Colts But I had to 'TUNE" them for fast function. I DO like them better then lever guns but that is just me.

As you previously asked--NONE of the reproduction Lightnings have been great guns. They have all had feeding problems and early Berettas(which are all made by Uberti) are no different. Supposedly the very latest version of the Gold Rush is slightly improved but unless you really are set on owning one I would spend my cash elsewhere until it has been in the marketplace a little longer--retail starts at $1375 for the carbine.
