"Tactical" sling for Mossberg 500

I'll be the first to admit I don't know much about these so called "tactical" slings. I will be working for some months on Afognak Island in Alaska this summer. I plan on doing a lot of hiking as well as fishing. I would like some way of carrying my Mossberg so that it is out of the way, but still ready to use at a moments notice. I have seen slings for AR type rifles that hold the weapon close to your chest, pointed down towards your left foot, for a right handed person. I'm thinking something like this would be good. I also need some way of attching it to the gun. I have seen sling plates that fit between the stock as well as behind the barrel nut. Brownells carries them. Is this the best option? It has to be comfortable but more importantly it has to be able to be deployed extremely fast if I ever need to use it. Any suggestions?
