I have a schrade USA SS30 lockback pocket knife that was said to belong to Schrade president Wally Gardiner. The handles are mastodon ivory. Was this a specially made knife? I cannot find it advertised anywhere. Thanks Henry

I would venture a guess that it is a custom made knife. I doubt that it came from Schrade with ivory on it, it's probably the work of a custom knife maker with aftermarket scales.
I think that if it were the presidents knife it would be accompanied by a certificate of authenticity.
There are some serious Schrade collectors on allaboutpocketknives, if you were to ask over there you could probably get some more concrete info, maybe even find out who did the work.
