First off I know how a picture helps but have no way to post one but could someone give me a ballpark value of a German made Weatherby Mark V 270 mag it is about 70% with a Leupold Vari X II scope. I have looked at our host GunBroker's completed sales but can't see one that has sold except for one made in Japan. Any info is always appreciated.

I saw a left handed one in 270 WM 95% made in 66 German no scope but had rings go for $1000 a few days ago

A right one in 300 WM 80% on metal, stock cut and refinished made in 63 has a B&L scope didn't get a bid at $900 less than 2 months ago.

I'd rather have the 7mm WM but maybe a 270 one would could be worth more to some other shooter. I have never owned a Weatherby, shot a few but always thought they were way over priced.

    Insurance value I'd claim $1500.

At 70%, I'd estimate $600-$700, $750-$800 tops, depending on which VX II scope.

70% would drop any firearm out of the collectors category. Unless it's something on pare, with the Walker Colt.

As a shooter, don't have a clue to it's value. The hyper velocity Weatherby's, had a rep as being barrel burners. Likely if it's 70% and well over 40 years old, ( German production ceased in the early 70's). The throat might be toast.
