We have a stamped "Mossberg Model C 22Cal S.L.&LR."Bolt Action Single Shot. Can't find any info on a Model C. Do these go by another number and they we're never stamped??
UPDATE-- It sucks to get old.(Can we blame it on that??) Somehow we we were hung on that this was a Marlin and couldn't even read our own words. Thanks Rufe for getting us a little straighter on the tracks. We bad.

If you get no answer here, would try rimfirecentral.
EDIT: See here: http://www.rimfirecentral.com/forums/showpost.php?p=6069409
The Model C Mossberg was made 1931-1932. The "go to" people for anything with a Mossberg are Victor and Cheryl Havlin at havlinsales.com Victor used to work for Mossberg, he and Cheryl run the Mossberg Collector's Association, and are really great people to deal with. And buy a copy of Vic's book- "More Gun for the Money".
See if any have access to this book? Likely it will be noted in the book. Unless it is a unknown one of a kind?
EDIT #1,
The Model C Mossberg, is kind of rare and unusual. The only made it for one year. According to the Mossberg book. It was one of their first generation guns. A larger version of the Model B.
Pic's would really help, really good pic's would really really help.

Added it's OK. Rifle identified. Agree with the one year of production. Mossberg isn't my first choice.
Mossberg isn't Marlin
It sucks getting older. We can't read anymore. For some reason we had Marlin on the brain.
MODELS 20, 21,& C are pretty much the same.
