Does anyone know if there is a web site that can be used to lookup the value of a gun? Something like Kelly Blue Book for cars.

The Blue Book for guns is on line, but is not free. You must pay for access. Best bet is either buy the Blue Book, or Standard Catalogue or ask here or on specialist sites if it is mil surp etc. The books often list values well below or sometimes above the real world prices, plus there are regional variations.

Some of the "Gun Value" books I have show prices that must be based on what shops are selling guns for in the Afganistan and Pakistan flea markets. I wish I knew where I could buy some of the guns they list at the unrealistic low prices shown in these "so called" price reference books..

It may need to run a day or two. Lots of folks log on at night after work. I promise there are some very knowledgeable .22 and rem fans here that should be able to give you a real world estimate.

Be patient. I personally think you will get the best information right here.

In my experience, gun price guide books aren't that accurate. They are useful as guidelines on more popular guns. You will get some good info from the guys here. Some of them collect, some of them are dealers.

And check out the closed auctions. Add $25-$50 to the selling price for shipping, ffl costs, aggravation, etc.
