could anyone give me an idea of the worth of a Tikka 7mm mag master whitetail hunter. This is a whitetails unlimited gun for 1999-2000. There is a color picture of two bucks fighting engraved on the side of the stock. It is #72 of 300. thanks

As I understand my references, a New in Box Standard Mark I from 1951 is valued at around $325, however, the original red medallion adds a premium over those guns built before Alexander Sturms death (at which time the medallion was changed to black) and doubles it's value.

That being said, I am always cautious when one feature, a feature easily faked, doubles the value on an item. It's not that I would doubt your gun (the receipt and serial number would prove provenance), it's more that I doubt the valuation itself. For example, I have a Mark 1 bright stainless with Bill Ruger's Signature etched on the barrel (limited production of 5,000 in 1982) that supposedly doubles it's value to $550.00 yet I have offered it for sale numerous times in the past and never had a serious inquiry.

You might check over at the Ruger forum for a more definitive answer.
