Greetings: givette here. Would someone eyeball these pix and render an educated guess as to value? (All internal numbers end with the "91" stamping). Perhaps I'll have better luck with this than I had with the .32 S&W value request. Thanks for looking. Joe 1937LugerMilitary002.jpg

Thank you, Marc. Looks like you got me what I need to get started. Now, if only I knew what percentage catagory my Luger falls under. Till that happens, I don't have a value. (Would someone with a good eye for firearms condition eyeball the above photos and give me an educated guess?) If anyone wants, I'll post additional photographs if that will help. Again, thanks. Joe

Joe, estimating percent of finish is more art than science. Check the front of your Blue Book, as they have photos & explain HOW to estimate percent.

Going by the photos you posted, my estimate would be 90%. it would be 97-98%, but it looks like there is little finish left on the back strap (Common, the result of sweaty hands.)

Like Neal said,.....it can be tough, even with pics!
Try and estimate in percentage, how much of the original factory finish is left on the gun. Also it appears to have a bit of pitting on the barrel, but that may be my eyes![;)]

The '37's are fairly common. You have the latter type IV fxo mag and the original was an aluninum base. Ballpark $750.-$900. retail. Walk-in about $650.

Tks guys. I'm retarded. I mean RETIRED!!! This is all a new hobby to me..to wile away the time. All of your help was/is appreciated. Now, does anyone know why the photos in my .32 S&W posting suddenly became red X's??? Is there a quick fix at my end?? Again, thanks. Joe

You probably lost the link to the hosting site they were posted on. If you put pics in an album, and then post them here,..........and by any chance go back, and change anything in the hosting account, the link will be lost.

Edit: You must leave the images in the same location, with the same image tag, as long as you wish for them to be seen here. Not that dumb if you are not familiar,........many have done it.

I've been helping a friend look for a Luger for the last year, & pickings are slim out there. I haven't seen anything under $1K except for police reworks & Russian reblues. You can look at the SOLD listings & get a better idea. I would think that with your good photos, you could get $1,200-1,500.

    S42 is Mauser....
fxo is the 'S' Code for Haenel, C.G.,
    waffen- u.Fahrrad-Fabrik, Suhl
as nice as the luger appears I'd give it a 90% on the chart...and value it at $1500.00 to $2000.00
