I recently inherited this S&W .22 LR. I was wondering if someone could tell me what model it is?
Comments
When I open the cylinder the markings are:
G
4764
If there is a model number, it will be so marked on the frame behind the crane, which can be seen by opening the cylinder and looking at the frame area thus exposed.
The serial number will be on the butt and will help determine the age of the gun.
The gun looks great, except for the plastic stag stocks. Correct stocks show up on eBay from time to time, since all K-frame Smith revolvers, of which this gun is one, have the same frame size and the stocks are all interchangeable.
You have a good one. Put some correct "diamond" service stocks on it and you will have one of the classic handguns of all time, one that you could sell for a fair buck if you chose to do so.
If you are in texas, you can't live far from me.
Thanks.
