Ive had a Glock on order since mid December. Everytime I call them, they give the standard "2 more weeks". I dont mind waiting, and I got a great price, but my permit will expire by May. Does anyone know if I can expect it by then, or should I look for something else. I know the answer that Glock would give, but does anyone have any other info. Thanks.

Hard to tell with the panic on. DPMS, and AR15 maker is 6-12 months on backorder for many items, with most at least 8. They are 80k rifles on backorder. The panic has not ceased yet since Nov 4th.

Im trying to get a 23. Im thinking with that being a popular one, that will take the longest. The last thing they said was they are out of night sights. I just dont want to miss out and have to go through the permit process again.

if the night sights were the hold up i would get one without them.
you can always get them aftermarket.

    Agreed.

There is no shortage of night sights out there, and they are neither particularly expensive, nor particularly costly to install.

Also, with respect to the gun, it may be Glock that's the problem here, not your middleman. I'd call your seller again, ask to speak to a manager, or someone senior, tell them that you've heard "two weeks" for two months, tell them your reason for asking, and ask them to level with you on what the problem is.

You might get a more informed response that way.

And believe it or not, if Glock is the hold up, you *might* actually get Glock to do something for you if you get their customer service on the phone.

Ive been dealing directly with Glock. I think the night sight thing was just an excuse. When I asked when they would ship if I went with regular sights, they said it wouldnt make a difference. I talked to one shop, and he was told dont expect anything until June. Just wondering if anybody knew if that is accurate. If thats the case, then I want to have time to look for something else before my permit runs out.

One suggestion: Try some of the internet retailers such as Gunbroker.com, {elsewhere}, or the internet classifieds such as {elsewhere}.

I have a theory: Some of the brick and mortar retailers are financially constrained because credit has dried up, their lines of credit have been cut or were not renewed, and the vendors are being tough with the retailers about paying the payables in a timely manner.

Case in point: Sportsmen's Warehouse was sold quite recently to a Canadian company in what may be called a "firesale".

Example: If a retailer cannot get stock such as powder, guns, ammo, bullets, and primers, because he is late in paying his suppliers, he is not likely to tell you that. Instead, he will say "Everyone is buying up all the Glocks, ammo, and components as fast as they come in because NOBANANAS is going to tax the hell out of them".
