is it possibly true that the german oberndorf m41b 6.5x55mm mausers used scopes other than the ajack scopes; as these rifles were the german variation of the swedish m41b 6.5x55mm mauser and that reportedly the german wehrmacht used these scoped rifles which didn't necessarily use the ajack scopes?
thanks.

My understanding is when the Swedes couldn't obtain scopes from Germany for their sniper rifles, they started manufacturing their own in Sweden.

They were known as the "AGA" and were made in at least 3 different models, "41", "42" & "44".

Never was aware that the German forces in W W II, were armed with or used any rifles chambered for the Swede 6.5 X 55 cartridge.( Other then the Norwegian Krags they utilized during their occupation of Norway). If somebody is feeding this boloney to you, I would have them substantiate/document it!

no, just some alleged obscure historical information that i had come across and will try to locate it again, as at the time didn't think much of it until now, but something to the effect of the wehrmacht including ss units that happened to have utilized german oberndorf m41b 6.5x55mm mausers into service using other scopes besides the ajack scopes that these rifles would normally have mounted, but were definitely not retricted to by any means.
apparently there were also many volunteer nordic troops that joined the ranks of the ss under the wiking division that may have used the m41b rifles as well and the germans were known to utilize whatever they could for the war effort concerning troops and equipment, so this would have actually been highly probable to have transpired and just because there may not be documented evidence of this doesn't mean that it didn't occur.

Heres a tidbit I ran across this Morning...The ZF41, S Code is <duv> if I read this correctly was for Berlin Lubecker...Made Mounts...
The S Code was Zf4 <dor> for the Mount and the Scope was/is <dow>, For Opticotechma of Czechoslovkia..Evidently One made Scopes, another made Mounts and the Last Put it all together...Thier rational was to keep production going by separating Manufacturers....
If You can chase down a copy of German Small Arms by AJR Cormack You might take a look at pages 139/40 and 41...Having a bit of a problem at getting a Good Look outta my Normally Good Eye...Had Eye Surgery this Morning......Hope this helps You.....Best...

i am sorry to hear that you had to have eye surgery and hope that you will get well soon and recover quickly.
thank you for that information, i have been searching for any historical documentation concerning what i posted earlier to no avail of course now that i am looking for it, but i will look into that book and some others if i can find them that may prove to be beneficial as well.
i wonder if the Backbone of the Wehrmacht or German Sniper: 1914-1945 or any other similar books might have some relevant information on this obscure and mostly unknown subject?

Any "Mauser built" M41 was based on a much earlier M96 receiver.

There were Swedish scopes, and several types. Indeed, I have seen a Swedish rifle carrying a ca.1957 or so Meopta scope. Hardly surprising, since optical manufacture is brutally expensive and demanding.

yes, i agree as i too have seen put together m41b rifles with german scopes other than the ajack scopes which are very expensive(over priced imo) and very difficult to find in nice condition as well.
