mossberg 22 replacement trigger guards

edited February 2009 in Ask the Experts
Have a friend who is a mossberg 22 collector, he has always disliked the plastic finger groove trigger guard, so he made replacements for his rifles from aluminum. They are very nice looking and an exact match. He has started producing these and I told him I would post an inquiry on here to get some experts opinions on them. He sold a couple at a gunshow last weekend and got alot of positive feedback.
I will post some pics, and any comments, ideas sugggestions, would be appreciated. I also will try and get registered on GB, and list an auction to test the waters for interest from the Mossberg crowd.
Thanks!
Jim

    Yblockhead,
You are in luck, the guards he originally made were patterned off of his model 46B. I believe they will fit others as well, but we are not sure as of yet. He knows there were a few different ones made, and we will have to get guards to use as a pattern until he gets a template for every one. But, the ones he presently has done will work for you.
He sold a couple at a gun show this weekend, one for $ 40 and one for 45.
His plan is to sell them for $ 40 when he starts selling them regularly. But just to test the waters I started an auction here, with a starting bid of $ 25.00 + $ 5.00 shipping.
    Check it out!!
    Auction # 122779751
Sorry I don't know how to list a link!

You should show these to Vic at Havlin sales. They are a Mossberg parts vendor.

Well I like the plastic one. On my 46B but if I ever break it I will let you know. Vic is definatley the guy to talk too. Nice to see a few more mossberg fans come out of the closet around here.

The plastice on the 44US will last as long as I have the rifle, I might buy one for 25.00 if I had to replace it rather than plastic for 18.00 not much more. Forty dollars will buy a big piece of a .22 rifle.
