Browing BBR 270

I recently purchased a 270 BBR with fantistic wood. It's supposedly unfired and is in near perfect condition. I've seen a few BBR's over the years but this one stands out as different in that the stock resembles that of a Weatherby Mark V. The forearm is squared off and flat on the botton and the wood is a lighter colored circaision looking walnut. I'm thinking this may be an earlier prototype version of the more familiar BBR. The serial # is 6049RP117.....the RP designating it to be a 1978 model. Any information as to approximate value and the number produced would be appreciated.
