Plan on using H4831SC with 150gr Nosler BST. I will be using WW Brass......my rifle is Encore Pro hunter.

Noticed O connor used CCI Mag Rifle primers in his handloads.......have you all tried this in the 270 win with H4831?

let me know how it works out. I am a tad bit low on large rifle primers myself.

Jack O'Connor used H4831 powder, and CCI mag primers in both his 150gr and his 130ge loads, I get the same results using H4831SC and standard CCI or Winchester WLR primers. The SC powder is easier to light than long grain,if you use SC powder back it down 2 grains with the mag primer, check for presure signs, and go from there.
    For what it's worth.

    +1 CapnMidnight,
The mag primers will work fine but you may need a bit less powder to equal the velocities you'd get with the standard primers.

There has been some good advice given. Just introducing something different to a listed load can be dangerous, for any caliber. You done right by asking for advice. It is like taking a recipe that calls for a cup of sugar and adding a cup and a half of mollasses, you just don't know how it is going to turn out.

That said, I like to standardize my reloading components with primers and powders, somewhat to keep minimal stock on hand, but have tested all the loads I have developed, for all the cartridges I use them in. Always back off by 5 % or so and work your way back up checking for accuracy and pressure.
