Remington Custom Shop "C" Grade

I was looking at the Remingtom Custom Shop b/c I was told that they will chamber guns in 6.5 Remington Magnum. I noted the Custom "C" Model, which appears to be the only model with a walnut stock. It doesn't seem to have the 6.5 listed. Also, how "custom" are these guns? Should I just look to another maker if I want a custom (really "semi custom") 6.5 with a walnut stock made to my specifications?

If you want a custom tack driveer in that chambering, don't over pay for a Remington. Go for a Cooper. You will not be sorry. Check them out on the auction side...go to modern firearms, then rifles, then bolt action, then type in Cooper in the search engine. Be careful...don't hurt yourself

    famous wolf,

Combining this post with your request for information about the Remington custom shop...

I would contact Montana Rifleman about this barreled action:

    BCRM

4140 Chrome Moly Short Action, .534" Bolt Face, Right Hand, Magazine Length 3.125"

    6.5 Remington Mag, 7mm WSM, 270 WSM, 300 WSM, 350 Remington Mag, 338-300 WSM, 450 Marlin, 325 WSM

4140 Chrome Moly Barrel, length up to 26" Finished, Customers choice on crown, See our Barrel Technical Information Page On Available Contours

    $997.00

    $1172.00 w/blue

    http://www.montanarifleman.com/barreled_actions.htm

As I noted for you before, this action with the lengthened box allows for seating bullets out with cartridges of this type.

    Then call Wenig:

    http://www.wenig.com/

They can make you a plain grain walnut stock and fit it to the Montana rifleman barreled action. Good people to work with.

Then there is the other company mentioned above:

Don Gemes, owner of Show-Me Gunstocks in Missouri

Donnie doesn't have a website as he is usually busy all of the time. He's a gentleman and easy to work with.

    Best.
