Bullet importation.

I've come across several military cartridges that shoot great, but I can't seem to get quantities of the bullets.

They are:

RUAG, .308" 174 gr. FMJBT found in GP11 (I may already know the answer, the Swiss won't export them)
PRVI Partisan .311" 174 FMJBT found in Argy 7.65x53 and Brit .303
PRVI Partisan 7.92" 196 gr. FMJBT found in Yugo M75
6.5 Swede 139 gr. FMJBT

Anybody know where I can find these?

For the .311 174 gr. I can use Hornady which is good. I did call the importer some years back and they said they had some barrels of it in LA in a warehouse but wouldn't disperse it until one of the wholesale/retailers (Midway, Graf Wideners) bought it. I haven't ever seen it for sale from them. They wouldn't sell it to me directly.

-Appreciate any help you may have to offer.

    sandwarrior,

Ruag Ammotec, USA is the conglomerate that owns RWS, Rottweil, GECO and Norma. As you already know, the Ruag component manufacturing portion refuses to release their bullets or brass to the U.S. for some reason. We tried to get a large lot of the 6mm Swiss Match cases in several years ago and even with an order of 100,000 cases, they wouldn't put the order through. I have never gotten a satisfactory explanation of this but after a year of trying, I gave up. This spurred several shooters/manufacturers to come up with their own designs that were similar but different enough to stay out of court.

This is the only information I have on PRVI:

    USA IMPORTER/Distributor

    TR&Z USA TRADING
    CORPORATION
    2499 Main Street
    Stratford CT 06615
    Phone: +1 203 375 8544
    Fax: +1 203 375 8547
    E-mail: info@trzusa.com
WEB: www.trzusa.com (doesn't work for me)

The website seems to be down or taken off.

Graf & Sons is listing some 198 gr. 7.92mm but that's all I'm aware of.

If you haven't tried it already, S&B has some 8mm Match bullets that are better than average...

Norma is usually who I talk to about all things concerning the Swedish Mauser. As I've stated before, I use one of those inexpensive calling cards to make overseas calls at low rates. Lapua is another good company that will talk to folks when we call for help.

    Best.
