Can these be broke down and disassembled very easy for shipping? Just by turning release lever or knob? Thanks.

You need to unscrew the thumb screw, pull the hammer back and it should come apart! I have herd that some people take the stock off, I never take mine off, I guess they are afraid the the receiver may ride up and damage the stock, your call!

Is the thumb screw the lever or the knob? Thanks. I'm needing to walk someone through it by emails so they may prepare it for shipping.

When you take the thumb screw out with the hammer back the rifle will come apart, every other part is secured with screws including the lever, the only parts loose is the bolt. Why not put the rifle in a card board shipping container, they have them on Mid Way with foam center, if you know someone that gets rifles from the CMP they might have one to give you. You see a lot of these rifles were someone took a pair of pliers and muck the thumb screw up, if they cannot get the screw out with thumb and fingers, don't use a tool to open it up.

He was able to take it down and I hope not with a tool. Can't wait to get it in my hands. Thanks again Emmett. I guess you were the only one with the info.[:)]
