how to limit results on auction

I always have a problem when I try to look for items on auction.
Either I get no results or I get several hundreds.
In this case I was trying to find 5 or 10 round M1 magazines. No mater how I try to word it I get nine or more hundred results for things far removed from what I want. The reason I need 5 or 10 rounds is because I live in the Demokratik Republik of Kalifornia.
I am also curious if there were ever any G.I. 10 round ones as I found many listed on {elsewhere}.
I have had this problem with many other items I have tried to find in the past.

Here, or anywhere else, you will not find USGI M1 carbine mags other than 15 or 30 rounds; they never made them. The 5 or 10 rd mags you see offered are either new commercial mags, or shortened USGI mags.

EDIT: I think that some sellers on elsewhere are trying an end run around the sites hi-cap mag prohibition. Some M1 carbine mags that look to me like 15 rounders are described with (wink, wink) only 10 rd capacity. Probably best to check with sellers if you aren't sure what they are offering.
I share your frustration. There are different ways to program a "search", but the GB technical staff apparently believes that the current system is best for the majority of users. (Try running a search for "Luger" that won't get you thousands of hits on items other than PO8's.)

Neal is correct, however some of the 5 round mags were factory made to accommodate use of the carbine in hunting in states that did no allow more than 5 round mags. Most are rather more primitive in modification. I do not know about M1 mags, only carbine mags.

That did bring it down to a total of about 80 results but still most are not for 5 or 10 rounds.
I am concerned about the ones on {elsewhere} as they may not be legal in the DPRK. I think I will wait until I go to a gun show to see what I can find.

Put the following in your search:
1. quotation marks "M1 Carbine" captures only-hopefully - M1 Carbine as a word
2. minus sign -15 -20 -30 eliminates 15 20 30 from your search
3. wild card * works too *10 *15 captures 10 or 15 a word ending with 10 or 15
4. try a combination of the above works too
5. see if you can google up some search lessons
Searched GB using "M1 Carbine" "10 Round" got 66 hits
Hope this helps
