I notice that the factory Ruger 10/22 mags are not marked as 22LR or 22Mag. Do they interchange?

    Thanks guys,

absolutely yes! for reasons which are unclear to me now i traded a P94 for a P95DC.The P89&94 mags fit perfectly. You can use earlier 15rnders from P85-94. the newre mags have the bumpeers on the end.[This message has been edited by Khegglie (edited 10-17-2001).]

    yep....ruger made 2 mags.....1 for 9mm/40cal. and 1 for .45 cal....they are all interchangable. Ruger's PC9 9mm rifle also takes the p89 mags.

Anybody know if Ruger produced 30 rounders for the P series 9mm? If so any feedback on if they were any good or not.

I knew of aftermarket 1's to but saw some for auction that said they were factory. I emailed asking if they were and was told they were factory. Anybody know for sure?

rmeyer,I'm a Ruger shareholder and Ruger firearm owner--I have never heard of Ruger manufacturing 30-round magazines for their P-series pistols. They do have special "law enforcement only" weapons (including full-auto submachine guns), but such "bad" things are never allowed into the hands of the general public.I think whoever you emailed is mistaken about having Ruger factory P-series 30 round mags.

cbxjeff,I have not actually seen them, but understand that some early P85 magazines were different than the later P89 series mags (P89 series includes the P93, P94 and P95)--I don't know exactly what the difference was, or whether or not there is any simple adaptablility between the two.Maybe someone else can clarity (or correct me) on this?

competone is correct. If an acution is selling "factory" 30 round Ruger mags, you'd better ask "Whose factory?", 'cause it isn't Ruger's!Most likely they are USA or Triple-K, both of which are marginal at best. You can still find older Ruger hi-caps (like 13 to 15 rounds) for reasonable prices. Buy those and forget about the 30s. Besides usually being unreliable, they make a pistol very difficult to handle well. For a defensive situation, would you want to explain in court why you had a 30 round mag in your pistol? Are you a gang-banger or just someone looking to kill? That's what the prosecuter is likely to charge. And it will make the lawsuit against you by the perp's family easier for them to win.In other words, why give ammunition to the enemy????

Guys,Thanks for all the info. I've learned a lot. luger01, you make a good point. I have a pre-ban 89 that I love. Although I have carry permit, I rarely do carry - and never an 89 w/ a huge mag! I have found that as I have grown older that I enjoy just having things as much as using them. I never thought that when I was 30!

luger,I keep atleast 4 thirty-round mags with my P94 in the truck all the time. And since Sept. 11, I've been keeping my 7.62 Saiga with "enough" 30-round clips too![This message has been edited by competentone (edited 10-17-2001).]
