for all you mossberg shotgun experts out there...what is the difference in a model 590 from a model 590a1? both that i saw had ghost ring sights, and bayonet lug, looked identical...but the 590a1 had a price tag of $445 while the 590 had a price of $390...whats the deal?

ACP is Automatic Colt Pistol.Trademarked term for a caliber.AP is Armor Piercing.Generic for a bullet meant to penetrate armor.Usually has a hardened steel,tungsten or uranium core.

better to own??.... .45apc is just the name of the round....just like 9mm. or .357mag...all .45's are apcs to my knowledge (im probably wrong)....i guess if your just plinking or target shooting then normal rounds would be fine....but if you plan to fight a war or engage in a shootout with someone wearing body armor then APs (cop-killers) would be the way to go.

No, not all .45's are ACP's. .45 Long Colt, for example. There are others. .45 is a measurement of diameter.

APC's are Armored Personnel CarriersACP's are Automatic Colt PistolsAP's are Armor Piercing bullets45's can be acp, colt (AKA long colt), scholfield, auto rim, win. mag, etc. There are lots of different .45 calibers. If you want a pistol in .45, it most likely is a .45acp. BTW, .45AP would be illegal and almost impossible, given the average mass and velocity of most .45's. From a pure legallity stand point, any pistol ammo that is armor piercing is not legal for sale to private individuals.

Sometimes when you are buying a gun, the dealers just get get mixed up. They call it an 45AP for auto pistol, When they mean, 45ACP, auto centerfire pistol.
