Advice Please/Active Hearing Protection

I am looking into electronic hearing protection for the range and afield. I have used a friend's Peltor brand and they seemed okay. I ran across a Silver Creak brand in Cabelas which wasn't much more than the Peltor set I was looking at but seemed to have more features. I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with the Silver Creek brand or Peltor brand electronic hearing. I want to make a purchase soon and any and all advice is welcome. Thanks

I have a Peltor Tac-7 and have been very happy with it. Other than that, I can't really offer any comparative info. I will say that I'll never go back to using passive hearing protectors again. It's great (and safer) to be able to hear normal conversation levels at the range!Tom

Dillon Precision has a couple of active units as well; never tried 'em but am mighty tempted. You can find them (& more!) at: http://www.bluepress.com They're Pelton's too, I understand.[This message has been edited by spclark (edited 10-18-2001).]
