When I was a dealer, I sold many Astra pistols. I never recall hearing a complaint about reliability. From a personal standpoint; if it were me, I would save a few more dollars and buy a Glock or Sig. But if you insist on buying an Astra, I suggest you buy a new one for warranty purposes.

I own an Astra A-80 in .45 and am satisifed with it. However, you should know that Astra is out of business; and you might do better to buy a pistol that is currently being produced.

There is a problem with the Astra's extractor breaking off. If you're going to buy one... make sure you have a bunch of spare parts. I love the feel and the fit of them, but after my Astra's extractor broke off on the first mag at the range, I decided it was worth the investment to buy a Sig 229.christian
