BORE GREASE??

What is a good bore grease/Oil to put in the bore's of rifles,shotguns & muzzleloaders to prevent rust during storage?There is so many to choose from i don't know wich one to choose. Thanks,G&G

    Never grease a barrel most greases will allow moisture to collect.Smokeless: First clean/wire brush with Hoppes #9 solvent.Then swab with Hoppes gun oil.Black Powder Depends on what you are shooting in it. If your loading Black Powder. First pour hot water down the barrel. Swab dry and let dry completly. I let them sit overnight.Then swab with an oil like Hoppes

    When you say storage, I assume it's long term.Cosmoline is a mess but we know it works. Just remember to be sure to clean out any grease before shooting or you'll ring (bulge)the bore with the first shot.
