Are the .45 Tacticals that are sold here on Gunbroker Double Action only, or are they Single and Double action, or can only LEOs have those. Can someone tell me if you can have the hammer cocked back with the safty on, then when you want to shoot it all you have to do is take the safty off and pull the trigger, and when the slide blows back does it cock the hammer agian?

the most common version of the USP is variant 1, which has traditional double action function ( double action first shot from the hammer-down position, then single action thereafter ), with the option of single action/ safety on for your carry mode. The tactical model offers some accuracy enhancements over the stock USP, but the fire control mechanism is the same.Other fire control variants are available, and any USP can be reconfigured to meet the needs of the operator. There are no versions that are restricted to LEOs.

While a given H-K Tactical pistol may have been altered to any one of the ten fire control modes available on USP pistols, the standard Tactical has control levers on both sides and can be placed on safe while the hammer is cocked. The safety levers can then be pushed down off-safe in the manner of a M1911 pattern pistol and the pistol can be fired. If the lever is pushed all the way down, the hammer will be decocked, the same as the "traditional double action" pistol. The safety will then rebound to the "off-safe" position. In the "off-safe" position, the trigger can recock and release the hammer in the manner of a "traditional double action" pistol, thereby firing the pistol, after which the slide will recock the hammer ready for another "single action" trigger pull. So-called "double-action-only" is not restricted to law enforcement. Why would it be? It appears you are not aware that the USP pistols can have ten fire control modes, depending on what fire control parts are in place. A USP can be converted easily to any possible fire control mode except full-auto. Single action, double-action-only, traditional double action, decock only, lever on the left only, lever on the right only, levers on both sides, etc.. I think the H-K web site shows the modes available. While a bit expensive by some standards, the H-K USP Tactical is a great pistol, some say the best available. What you will get on an auction pistol is unknown, but it is unlikely that it will be altered from the original factory fire control mode. You might want to verify before bidding if that worries you.
