Bought a remington 700 sendero blue, 270 caliber, unfired for $450.00. I know the 270 is not exactly a distance shot king, but figured for the price I am into it, I could afford to rebarrel in the future. Did I do ok?

Yes and don't downplay the 270 for range. In practical terms it will do just about anything.Remember it out runs the 308 sniper round .cpermd

try a 130gr ballistic tip in that round and tell us if you still doubt it's capability. A whitetail at 300 yds does not stand a chance against that round. It is also an accurate caliber. Good price if the gun has been taken care of.

I am finding out I did under estimate the ability of the 270. I am discovering that it should hit out to 350 to 400 with the 130 gr mentioned. I was comparing it to the 300 win mag that my other sendero is chambered in, and without being familiar with the 270, did not give it the credit it was due. I am looking forward to playing with this new tool. Thanks for your input and advice.
