Should I carry this gun II

The Star .380 is a great little gun. Any gunsmith should be able to figure out what is wrong with it, as they are basically miniature 1911s. They are not blowback-they are locked breech guns. Unless the recoil spring "got stronger" it will have nothing to do with the stovepiping problem.
Make sure you have cleaned under your extractor.

    Since this thread is re-opened, I'd like to add one thing.

    Obviously, the goal is to have a gun that is 100% reliable, or as close to that as you can get.

    But IMO, I'd rather have a gun on hand that was unreliable than no gun whatsoever.

    Statistically about 90% of civilian gun "incidents" are resolved with one shot or less.

    If this were the only pistol I had, I'd still be willing to carry it, knowing that I might only get one shot, or that (more likely) I might have to manually clear the gun between shots.
